Associate, Portfolio Manager (Bilingual)

Invisor is an innovative and growing financial services company that provides online investment management and insurance solutions to Canadians. We are currently seeking a bilingual Associate, Portfolio Manager in Oakville, Ontario.

 

The Job:

 

As an Associate, Portfolio Manager, your chief responsibility is to ensure that clients have portfolios that are suitable to their needs and risk tolerances.

 

You’ll engage with clients via chat, email and phone to answer any investment related questions they have.

 

In addition to working directly with clients, you will work closely with third party investment advisors and financial planners to communicate Invisor’s investment strategy.

 

Finally, on a daily basis, you will be responsible for reviewing portfolios, trades, and client investment related activity.

 

What we are looking for:

 

Someone with experience working directly with clients in a wealth management environment who has attained the CFA or CIM designation.

 

Someone with a keen analytical mind, who can take a client’s complex situation, dissect the key issues, and create a sound plan to help reach that client’s goals.

 

The ability to communicate complex financial information in a simple way and provide clear guidance to clients in difficult market conditions.

Senior Database Developer

Invisor is an innovative and growing financial services company that provides online investment management, insurance, and financial planning solutions to Canadians. The firm is seeking a Developer in Oakville, Ontario.

 

The Database Developer will be responsible for working with our application development team to plan and implement the data layer of our software development projects. The day-to-day activities of this role will include writing advanced stored procedures, optimizing data access for performance, designing data models and applying best practices and standards while working with our front-end developers.

 

The ideal candidate has an eye for following great design & IT architecture and can work on specific projects in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. He or she can also offer up advice on development or introduce the latest and greatest in technology that would benefit the team, the company and (most importantly!) the clients.

 

The Job:

 

The Developer will work closely with the Lead Developer and the management team in the development of the following key areas:

 

  • Design and implement solutions, in collaboration with front-office team, for the data layer of software projects including requirements gathering, data modeling, development, testing, deployment and documentation.
  • Develop performant SQL packages, procedures, triggers and functions according to business requirements.
  • Supports software development and testing throughout the software development lifecycle including script writing and execution, defect resolution and release support.
  • Integration with the front-office systems and company’s third-party providers of SaaS solutions

 

What we are looking for:

 

Someone with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related study or equivalent work experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 4+ years of database design, analysis and administration.

 

Someone very experienced in:

 

  • Database design and development, Microsoft SQL Server preferred or MySQL, Oracle, etc. (Expert level)
  • Data Analysis, full understanding of the challenges produced by complex join queries
  • Data Research: ensure the integrity of the database, identify potential areas of concern
  • Unit testing and integration testing
  • SQL performance tuning techniques including query plan understanding and management, SQL tracing, DB stats, indexing techniques, etc.

 

Desired skills:

 

  • Experience with Microsoft .NET
  • Web API based integrations
  • JavaScript
  • HTML

 

Someone highly skilled at writing clear and concise requirements documents, writing use-cases, and documenting process flows, and who has a proven record of working well with business stakeholders.

 

Someone who has preferably applied all the above skills in the financial services industry.

Associate, Client Service

We are currently seeking an Associate, Client Service in Oakville, Ontario.

 

The Job:

 

As one of the first and most important points of contact for our clients and advisors, you will provide timely and accurate responses to incoming telephone, email, written, and online questions about our services.

 

You will help the Portfolio Managers and the advisors with whom we work to guide clients through account openings and will be responsible for ensuring all the documentation required to open and fund their accounts is received and processed in a timely manner.

 

What we are looking for:

 

Someone with a Post-secondary education in business, financial services, or another relevant field.

 

Someone with customer service experience, ideally in a financial services environment. Or, if you have other experience in customer service that you think would be a good fit, tell us more.

 

Some knowledge of financial products, and an interest to learn more.

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Someone with A LOT of attention to detail, high energy, and willingness to learn.
