Senior Insurance Associate

The Job:

 

The Senior Insurance Associate will report to the Senior Vice President and Co-founder, and will work closely with the management and advisory teams to issue and administer life and health insurance products directly to new and existing customers. The successful candidate will leverage their industry knowledge and expertise to help drive the strategic direction of our technology solutions. Specifically, the Senior Insurance Associate will:

  • Mine our existing client and contact lists for insurance sales opportunities;
  • Leverage online video, phone, and chat in the sales and service process to perform sales;
  • Successfully convert qualified leads into customers;
  • Seek out referrals from existing customers;
  • Help customers resolve any problems and respond to any complaints in a timely manner;
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience;
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop online content and new product and service ideas;
  • Work with the technology team to scope out new products and improvements to our existing online experience.

 

What we are looking for:

 

Someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related study, or equivalent work experience. Additionally, someone who:

  • Is a licensed life insurance broker in all provinces in Canada (or who is currently licensed in Ontario and who can be licensed across Canada);
  • Has a track record of successfully selling and servicing a book of insurance business;
  • Understands the challenges and opportunities of the financial services industry;
  • Has created and implemented needs-based financial plans, and who has experience working with online financial planning tools;
  • Is excited about how technology can evolve the insurance and financial planning industry, and who follows current trends in the space;
  • Has their CLU, CFP, CFA, or other equivalent financial planning designations.

 

Bilingual candidates (French and English) are preferred.

Quality Assurance Tester

The Job:

 

The QA will report to the Director of Technology and will work closely with the development and management teams. The successful candidate will leverage their attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills to execute test cases and offer testing solutions that will support the development of our platform. Specifically, the Quality Assurance Tester will:

  • Review and analyze software specifications
  • Review online client experience on an ongoing basis to identify issues
  • Collaborate with Developers to determine effective strategies and test plans
  • Consistently execute manual and automated test cases, and analyze results in a timely manner
  • Evaluate product according to specifications
  • Generate logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Effectively report bugs and errors to development team
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Work with stakeholders to determine specification holes in new projects

 

What we are looking for:

 

Someone with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related study or equivalent work experience. Additionally:

 

Someone who:

  • Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development or testing
  • Has excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Is experienced in testing complex software systems
  • Has experience in relational database and ability to write simple database queries
  • Has experience with regression, end-to-end, blackbox, and whitebox testing
  • Is highly skilled at writing clear and concise requirements documents, writing use-cases, and documenting process flows
  • Has a proven record of working well with business stakeholders

 

Someone very experienced in:

  • Automated testing practices and tools
  • Using test management software
  • Working in Agile environments
  • Working with task tracking software (JIRA)

 

Someone who ideally also has experience with:

  • UI/UX design concepts
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Google Analytics
  • Windows systems

 

 

Bilingual candidates (French and English), and candidates who have applied the above skills in the financial services industry, are preferred.
